This magnificent scimitar was originally a Persian court sword commisioned by Abbas the Great, a Shah of Persia (1571 - 1629). It is embellished with 1295 diamonds and 50 karats of rubies (made up of 31 rubies), as well as three pounds of gold on the hilt and scabbard, topped by a 10 karat emerald on the hilt! 100cm long circa 1600 A.D.
