Classic French Officer's 'Mameluk' Saber / Military Sword

Second quarter of the nineteenth century

A curved blade and a short wire interlocked with central fuller and groove back, engraved and gilded trophies at the fort; Oriental hilt with cross-hilt decorated with floral motifs, angled pommel and horn handle light; sling; wooden scabbard covered with leather (damage) with gilt brass mounts decorated with floral motifs, two bells.
