Northern Italian Rondel Dagger Late 1500s

Robust two-wire straight blade with long heel, engraved and gold floral throw in a full length. Handle of octagonal section decorated en suite, with both ends machined to capital: the lower decorated with stripes and dots in silver, the upper one with fine silver trophies and in bas-relief depicting helmets, armor, sword and a bow and quiver. Cap engraved with leaves and fitted with a stud.

Beautiful dagger originally worked to form the handle of a cane animated, whose sheath to conceal it is unfortunately lost. The stylish implementation of motifs and production quality make ascribe the origin of a person of high rank.
