18th/Early 19th centuryCurved 30 1/4 inch blade showing a faint watered pattern with broad and narrow fullers at the back edge, the forte with gilt koftgari framed panels, one side chiseled with an inscription, the reverse with maker's mark and oval reserve of an animal. Iron guard, the downcurving quillons with lotus finials, decorated on both sides with gold koftgari inscriptions. Gripscales of dark green horn, the spine bound in silver tape. Together with black leather-covered scabbard, the iron mounts decorated en suite to the sword guard. Condition: Blade with minor spotting. Gripscales are possibly old replacements. Silver tape on grip with losses. Scabbard scuffed but wound showing some losses to leather at tip.
