The steel hilt with grip of octagonal section and angled pommel with broad guard, lavishly inlaid in gold with rumi motifs throughout. The long, recurved blade forged of fine Turkish twistcoredamascus steel, with gold-inlaid inscriptions in the central fuller calling upon Allah and 'Ali, together with a cartouche containing the numeral 7 three times, referring to Sura 77:7, Assuredly, what ye are promised must come to pass. In its velvet-covered wooden scabbard with steel mounts inlaid with gold en suite with the hilt. Retains its original woven silver sling. Late 18th-early 19th century.
