Dated AH 1220/ AD 1805-6 Steel, silver, glass, wood, coral Measurements: overall length 76 cm The sword has a slightly curved tapering single-edged steel blade decorated with silver inlay with floral and vegetation motifs on one side and two lines of inscription on the other. The hilt comes with prominent ears forming the pommel cast with circular motifs and set with glass, while the wood scabbard is clad with elaborately embossed rococo style silver at top and bottom, with coral mounts. The inscriptions on the blade reads the names of the Seven Sleepers and their dog, plus the owner’s name, “Mustafa bashi ibn Ahmad” and also the maker’s name: “The work of ‘Abdallah”.
