Description: Wide, straight, double-edged blade with broad, central fuller, strong and short quillons, semicircular pommel. Found in the Garonne, France. See The Sword in the Age of Chivalry, R. Ewart Oakshott, London, 1964. The plate 1 depicts a similar sword, dated by Oakshoot around 950 and listed as Type VIIIB.
