Description: A knightly sword, dating: mid-14th Century Provenance: France Straight, double-edged blade of lozenge section, on both sides of the first part a brass mark depicting a cross; straight, iron quillons of lozenge section, faceted, bronze pommel. Leather bound, wooden grip, probably subsequent.Provenance: Private Collection form Southern Germany See a similar model with almost identical, iron pommel in Schweizerischen Landesmuseum Collection in Zurich, illustrated in Waffen im Schweizer Landesmuseum - Griffwaffen, Nr. 41.
