Procopius of Caesarea - The Secret History PDF

The Secret History represents Procopius' heart felt account of the court of Justinian and his consort Theodora and Justinian's ablest general Bellisarius and relates the scandals that Procopius could not include in his published histories. I myself have not read this translation but enjoyed the Penguin translation so much when this public domain version came to my attention I instantly seized hold of it for use on this site. It is such an important book, and a rare and honest look at the goings on of Constantinople. It contains themes and events that are incredibly shocking so I would not recommend this book for the faint of heart.
