Editor's Note: This sword is possessed of the classic features of a bastard sword: a long sword of one hander length coupled with a two hander grip.
Also worth noting is the globular pommel not unlike those found on Hungarian/Steppe/Avar sabres; a pommel type not typical for cruciform swords but occasionally seen in Eastern Europe and Byzantium.Length 88.5cm For more information on Type XVa swords see this extract from Ewart Oakeshott's Records of the Medieval Sword: sword-site.com/thread/166/oakeshott-type-records-medieval-swordSource: www.czernys.com/auctions_lot.php?oggetto=49703&asta=43
