This very interesting sword is Persian, mid to late 19 C. employing an old, 17 or 18 C. Spanish (??) blade. The blade is straight, double edged, finely forged with cenral fuller and side piercing. It is marked and inscribed N T L D on one face and I (?) H R T V N on the other. The blade is probably shortened at the top. White metal handle of classical Qajar period style. Blade 27 inches, total 32 inches. Source: www.oriental-arms.com/
