In excavated condition, with broad double-edged blade (tip crudely repaired) probably originally with a shallow medial fuller over most of its length on both sides, hilt comprising flat ovoidal cross-guard, flat slightly tapering tang, and mushroom-shaped pommel. 76.5 cm. blade, 90 cm. overall Sold for £2,000 inc. premium Provenance: Acquired from Robert-Jean Charles, Paris, at an unknown date.
