In excavated condition, with slightly curved tapering blade double-edged towards the point, the forte on one side retaining much of its inlaid silver line decoration, quillons of drooping bow-tie form with pointed central langet on one side inlaid with silver line decoration en suite with the blade, and remains of curved tapering tang. 88 cm. blade Sold for £4,800 inc. premium Footnotes: For a similar example in the State Hermitage Museum, St. Petersburg see David Nicolle, Medieval Source Book Vol. 2, 1996, p. 110 (illustrated).
