A double-edged blade with fullers on both sides and a lightly rounded point. Remnants of a small area of decorative inlay in the fuller on one side. Straight quillons of square section. Sturdy, slightly tapered tang, the lower third fluted. Round disk pommel with a slightly conical top nut. Small remains of the grip at the transition to the tang. Cleaned moor discovery. Length 109.5 cm. Because of the anaerobic moor environment, the sword is in unusually good condition with largely intact surfaces and a few isolated deep pits. Provenance: Old German private collection.
