Late 19th century. Type favored by cannibals incorporating the hooked tip found on Konda swords which is used to control the victim when alive and grip the dismembered body parts for handling after butchering. English made (Martindale Birmingham with the crocodile mark) with model number and MADE IN ENGLAND to the base. Well used with scattered pitting typical for African swords. Grip with some cracks but complete. Dating to the period when slaves were primarily sold to Arabs and slaughtered for human consumption.
