Oakeshott Type XII Medieval Sword with Wheel Pommel

German, ca. 1200. Double-edged blade with a fuller reaching almost to the point on both sides. Round quillons, becoming square around the blade, with slightly swelling finials. Conical tang with a flattened disk pommel. Well preserved, cleaned excavation discovery with the entire length present.

Length 105 cm. Sold for 4200 Euros (2005).
