This particular sword is one of the nicest examples I have seen and had the privilege of handling. These swords are extremely rare and rarely come to auction. This particular sword has all original parts and has more than likely been professionally clean and maintained. The sword blade and hilt are perfectly fitted with no looseness or wobble present. This particular sword is fitted with a double edged blade with diamond cross sections. It is perfectly balanced and maneuverable in your hand. The blade also shows that it has been used and the fine length wise markings indicates it was in a river at some point. Specifications: Overall 87 CM Blade 69 CM Quillons 18.4 CM Blade Width 5.7 CM For more information on Oakeshott Type XV swords see this extract from Ewart Oakeshott's Records of the Medieval Sword: sword-site.com/thread/166/oakeshott-type-records-medieval-swordSource: www.antiquesarmoury.com/product/15th-century-castillon-medieval-sword/
