Blade Steel: 5160 Spring Steel hand-forged and differentially heat treated to 58RC at the edge with a spring temper on the spine and tang. Guard: Brass & Black G10 Handle: Frame handle- Outer layers of Mahogany and Natural Canvas Micarta core. Blade length: 10.5" Handle length: 5.75" Overall length: 16" Blade thickness: .259" at the base of the spine with a full distal taper toward the tip. Bevel Geometry: Slight Convex Editor's Note: This knife is a paradigm of the classic American Bowie style. It's an archetype that embodies this type of knife so perfectly I've included in the site as a permanent part of the collection. Dan Altavilla of Bushkill Blades is an absolutely stand up guy too. No money changed hands for this listing to posted, neither were there any 'donations' and I'm not a customer of his so there were no 'discounts' involved that led to my choice to select this knife (though I do intend to buy a knife from him at full cost in the future - the Man makes knives worth every penny) - I approached him with a request to put the knife in the collection and Dan thankfully accepted my request.Source: www.bushkillblades.com
