First quarter of the 19th Century Flat, curved, single-edged blade of fine damask (wootz), the first part decorated with long, rectangular cartouches featuring inscriptions in Arabic, held by horse and gold plated, at the foible of one side of the blade a cartouche with signature and date (1812), the back entirely decorated in gold; iron hilt decorated with Kofgari floral motifs, the quillon and the langets decorated with pieced, lily-like flowers; pommel with sword knot (damaged rope). Wooden scabbard with black leather covering with curled outlines, two bands with suspension iron rings decorated en suite. Iron chape.
