Date: 15th–16th Century Credit Line: Gift of William H. Riggs, 1913 Accession Number: 14.25.935 *Editor's Note: This sword is neither on display at present in the Metropolitan Museum nor have measurements been provided. Although I would normally not post a specimen without providing measurements this example is so exceptional I have made an exception to the rule. Given that it is a true two hander it is more likely than not well over 1 meter long (3 feet 3⅜ inches). It is likely given my experience with other similar swords to be somewhere between 120 - 140 cm long, though exactly how long for now remains a mystery. Once I am able to obtain measurements I will update this post.
