I built this spear earlier in the spring. It's not supposed to be historical or anything like that. It's just what I thought a good spear would look like. I used five and a half foot ash pole from the hardware store, a sharp Frankish Spear Head of unknown make from KAO, and a Windlass Greek Spike Buttcap. The head and buttcap are held on firmly, each with two screws and epoxy. Just for looks I did a red paracord wrap near the top, tied down some rabbit fur, and put a Chinese style spear tassel on it just because... I also used leather grip wrap near the base and front end. In it's current form it's about six and a half feet long, which I prefer at my height of five eight. This is my first spear, I've built other polearms like a glaive made entirely of hardware store items and a long crow's beak type weapon. I plan on making spears and glaives from bare blades and selling them online later this year.
