Up for sale is a beautiful Elven sword in the saber style.
It features authentic Sindarin inscriptions in the Tengwar writing system.
Steel used is the finest quality 1095AISI High Carbon Spring Steel hardened to 53 Rockwell C Hardness Scale.
Sword is wickedly sharp, so please, please be careful when handling it and never use it to practice unless you have checked and double checked that no one is within thirty feet of you, especially children who can move about quietly and are naturally curious. Treat this weapon with the respect you would treat a loaded firearm.
Grip is fashioned from the finest Roe Antler, which was aged prior to use. Aging antler is a critical step to using antler for sword and knife grips because it ensures the moisture content of the antler has stabilised, meaning cracks are far less likely to develop. Grip conceals a full tang which has been friction fitted (a very challenging task in itself), then glued with two tonne per square inch epoxy resin. Once the epoxy resin cures the remaining space is filled with Liquid Nails construction adhesive. The sword would be virtually impossible to dislodge from the grip without the glues as the sword is friction fitted, meaning the antler bites the steel and holds it in place (I physically test it for any movement or wiggle and I weight 90kgs / 198lb and I'm physically fit). The epoxy ensures a stiff, solid as a rock bond on top of that, and the Liquid Nails adhesive provides superlative shock absorbance, a quality so important in a sword handle. Antler itself is also substantially more durable than any timber I've ever worked with, so you can be certain this sword is assembled to the finest standards of quality in engineering. The Roe Antler grip has been polished, like the blade to a beautiful satin finish so as to be beautifully comfortable in hand.
Sword features two grooves / flutings on each face of the blade (or fullers as they are frequently called), this is done in a beautifully precise manner and reduces overall weight.
Sword is 36 inches long overall and weighs an amazingly light 715grams / 1.5lbs! Blade is approximately 3.2cm at widest, with a point of balance just nine inches from the hilt.
This sword represents the harmonious embrace of steel and nature, the kind of weapon an Elvish Princess or Prince would wield with lethal precision. It is a one of a kind, and will never be repeated. This sword was made by Bill Blake of Sword-Site and Alae Swords; a master sword maker with a degree in Ancient European Literature.
To own this sword is to know how it feels to run astride Legolas, Galadriel or Elrond in a noble warband hot on the scent of the Orc.
First come, first served; sorry folks no rain checks or lay-bys on this one.
